Fire & Smoke Damage Restoration

After the fire department leaves, the damage keeps working: soot etches surfaces, smoke odor penetrates everything porous, and openings invite weather and intruders. EMS secures the property, then takes it from ash to finished rebuild.

First hours: secure and stabilize

The first step after a fire is protecting what is left. We board up openings, tarp damaged roofs, and fence off unsafe areas so the property is secure and your insurer’s requirements for protecting the site are met. If water was used to fight the fire, we begin extraction and drying immediately, because a fire loss is almost always a water loss too.

Soot, smoke, and odor

Soot is acidic and keeps damaging metal, stone, and finishes the longer it sits. We clean surface by surface with methods matched to the material, remove what cannot be restored, and treat the structure for odor at the source rather than masking it. Contents that can be saved are inventoried, cleaned, and stored while the structure is rebuilt.

From loss to rebuild

Because EMS is a licensed general contractor, the rebuild is not a hand-off to somebody else. The crew that documented the loss plans the reconstruction, from framing and drywall through paint and finish carpentry, and your insurance file stays consistent from the first photo to the final walkthrough.

Straight answers

Fire & Smoke questions, answered

The fire was small. Do I still need professional cleanup?

Often, yes. Even a small kitchen fire can push smoke residue through the HVAC system and into rooms that look untouched. Soot is corrosive and odor compounds settle deep into porous materials. An assessment tells you the real spread before it becomes permanent.

Can you board up the same day?

Yes. Emergency board-up and roof tarping are part of our 24/7 response, and most policies require the property to be secured promptly. Call (951) 987-0098 and we will get it protected.

Do you work with my insurance company?

We are direct vendors for all the major insurance carriers.

Need fire & smoke help now?

Call and talk to a licensed restoration contractor, not a call center. We will tell you exactly what to do next.
