Mold Remediation

Mold is a moisture problem wearing a stain. Spraying the surface changes the color, not the outcome. EMS contains the affected area, removes contaminated materials safely, and fixes the moisture source so it does not return.

Why containment comes first

Disturbing mold without containment spreads spores through the rest of the house, often making the problem larger than it started. We isolate the work area with sealed barriers and negative air pressure, use HEPA filtration, and remove affected materials in sealed bags, so remediation in one room stays in one room.

Remove, then fix the cause

Porous materials with active growth, drywall, insulation, carpet pad, are removed rather than treated in place, and salvageable framing is cleaned and dried. Then the important part: we identify and correct the moisture source, whether that is a plumbing leak, poor drainage, or condensation, because remediation without a moisture fix is a countdown to the next colony.

As a licensed general contractor, EMS rebuilds what was removed, so you are not left with open walls and a list of other companies to call.

Straight answers

Mold Remediation questions, answered

I see a small patch of mold. Is that a big deal?

Visible mold is frequently the edge of a larger colony inside the wall or under flooring, especially after a past leak. An inspection with moisture readings tells you whether it is a surface issue or a symptom.

Is mold dangerous?

Reactions vary from person to person, and sensitive individuals, children, and anyone with respiratory conditions are more affected. Beyond health, active mold means active moisture, which is damaging the structure regardless of how anyone feels.

Do you test for mold?

Where testing or clearance is appropriate, third-party industrial hygienists can be brought in so the party verifying the work is independent from the party performing it. We will recommend what actually fits your situation.
